  • Overview

    Provide hardware maintenance support, system setup and sustainment support, install software upgrades and patches, submit trouble tickets to the help desk, install Information Assurance & Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) patches, with onsite technical support, maintain security system certification to ensure continued interoperability, IT security and network compliance.


    • Provide hardware maintenance support, software upgrades and patches installation, system setup and sustainment support, submit trouble tickets to Tier II/III Help Desk, install Information Assurance & Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) patches
    • Provide onsite technical support, maintain security system certification, ensure continued interoperability, and ensure IT security and network compliance
    • Assist in the configuration, installation, and remote management and maintenance of Cisco products, switches, firewalls, VLANs, and other applicable tools
    • Maintain effective information assurance posture while remaining available and reliable by applying knowledge of networks and systems
    • Support all JTF and JCSE Technical network and architecture issues
    • Utilize qualifications in data, voice, and video networks, and support all JTF and JCSE Tactical network and architecture issues
    • Understand Internet Protocol (IP) theory of system and network design, and able to produce and brief systems, networks, and architectural diagrams
    • Provide keen knowledge of networks and systems supporting an effective information assurance posture while remaining available and reliable
    • Produce brief systems, networks, and architectural diagrams using knowledge of Internet Protocol theory of system and network design
    • Apply JTF, JCSE and DOD policies and procedures that pertain to network installations, configurations, security, operations and certifications including tactical void and data networks in order to provide maximum performance, availability, and security for system users
    • Assist in planning, programming, development, and execution of classroom and practical application of Network Administration with validated and updated plans to facilitate training and technical skills of JTF system operators and maintainers
    • Manage and maintain security system certification, future and remote all COTS-based products, hardware and software standards, and network documentation
    • Design, install, maintain, and support all current and future LAN, WAN, and VoIP systems both onsite and remote
    • Provide onsite technical support, remote troubleshooting for COTS-based products, telecommunication products, and all network issues currently providing technical service support to users deployed worldwide


    • Education:
      • HS diploma or GED required
      • DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE; GSEC; etc.)
      • Cisco Certified Network Associate Route and Switch (CCNA R&S)
      • CCNA Collaboration
      • Training and certifications or equivalent in CCNP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 25%
      • 3 years’ experience in Network Administration, setup, and sustainment support of expeditionary JTF Command and Control (C2) programs such as Deployable Joint Command Control System (DJC2), Next Generation Enclave (NGE), Tactical Processing Node (TPN), or other deployable programs of a similar level of scope
      • Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability
      • Knowledge of Cisco Call Manager, Cisco Unity, LAN/WANs, routing technologies, and architectural designs
      • Knowledge of IP internetworking - MPLS (MPLS VPN, TE), IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, ISIS), Quality of Service (QoS), IP multicast
      • Knowledge of LAN switching protocols, and Security components such as Cisco ASA firewalls, ACL and IOS based security functionality
      • Requires problem management and customer service skills
      • Experience in data, voice, and video operations and configuration
      • Experience with deployed network design, integration, and implementation architecture
      • Knowledge on configuration, installation remote management, and maintenance of Cisco network routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VLANs, QoS, and other applicable tools to assist in optimal configuration and performance
      • Knowledgeable in network and administration of multi-protocol routers, multi-layer switches, network security devices and network management systems
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Training and certifications or equivalent in CCNP, CCSP, CompTIA Security+, CISSP
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to be able to up to 50 pounds
      • Ability to operating in austere environments, hardship, Hostile Deployment Areas, etc.
