  • Overview

    Responsible for power distribution systems, environmental control units, trailers and shelters. Be responsible for the tasks listed and in accordance with locally standard operating procedures (SOP’s), JTF systems SOPs, and/or GCC/JECC/JCSE instructions and documents. May include OCONUS or CONUS travel.


    • Assist in the planning, programing, development, and execution of classroom and practical application of Power Generation, Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning periods of instruction, validate, and update training plans to facilitate enhanced training and improved technical and tactical skills of JTF system operators and maintainers
    • Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of Engines (gas and diesel), Electrical to include ECM’s ECU’s sensors, etc., engine bolt on items such as fan clutches, injectors, cooling systems, maintenance support plan and logs for all JTF power and mechanical systems
    • Serve on a deployable command and control system supporting the DJC2 program by having knowledge of HDT power generation, Advanced Medium Mobile Power Sources (AMMPS) power distribution, and HDT heating and ventilation
    • Setup and teardown, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and repair generators, environmental control units (ECUs), and power distribution systems
    • Evaluate power and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) layouts. Provide planning for power generation, power distribution, HVAC, and soft shelter systems on deployable C2 programs
    • Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices
    • Inspect, repair, service and start-up load bank test requirements on equipment
    • Troubleshoot equipment and service generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses safety devices, shutdown switches battery systems, etc.
    • Identify problems and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps, determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts, and report locally and to tier level 2/3
    • Assist and lead in marshalling, transport, setup, operations, and training of JTF infrastructure equipment
    • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance
    • Open, update, and support close out of trouble tickets


    • Education:
      • HS diploma or GED required
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • 12 years of experience in infrastructure equipment setup and support on deployable C2 programs that are ACAT I or II level programs or other deployable programs of a similar level of scope
      • 12 years of experience with HDT power generation, AMMPS power distribution, HDT Heating Ventilating and Cooling (HVAC), and HDT soft shelter systems or similar systems, including evaluating power and HVAC layouts, providing planning for power generation, power distribution, HVAC, and soft shelter systems on deployable C2 programs that are ACAT I or II level programs or other deployable C2 programs with a similar level of scope
      • 8 - 10 years of experience with planning and supporting the deployment, installation, and upgrade of deployable C2 programs, including DJC2 or other deployable C2 programs with a similar level of scope
      • Experience with using Microsoft Outlook and Word
      • Experience with computers and trouble ticket software, including Remedy
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • BA or BS degree preferred
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to be able to up to 50 pounds
      • Ability to operating in austere environments, hardship, Hostile Deployment Areas, etc.
