  • Overview

    Provide expert level Windows Server implementation and operation to support a medium scale IT operation. Assist with the documentation, deployment, and administration of redundant 24/7 IT systems as well as the requirements, implementation plan, and SOPs associated with system implementation and operation. Provide virtualization services using VMWare ESX.


    • Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and operating systems
    • Install, configure, and maintain VMware ESX systems and related VMWare components
    • Install, configure, and maintain Cisco networking devices to include network catalyst switches and, routers
    • Install, configure, and maintain firewalls and VPN solutions
    • Be responsible for enterprise backup solutions and disaster recovery planning
    • Maintain a robust development lab
    • Monitor security oversight, patching, and application security scoring


    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • 3+ years Windows Server administration with active directory design and role-based access control
      • 3+ years VMware ESX administration and support
      • 2+ years system monitoring (i.e. HP/Dell servers and storage)
      • 3+ years managing SQL and SQL clustering software
      • 3+ years managing Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls
      • 2+ years enterprise backup experience (i.e. NetBackup, Avamar, and CommVault)
      • Expert level knowledge of storage platforms, backup solutions, and disaster recovery methods
      • Extensive knowledge of Cisco networking equipment to include switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN solutions
      • Possess all necessary troubleshooting and problem-solving skills pertinent for a network engineer
      • Ability to ensure operational script creation and maintenance (i.e. batch, shell, VB, PowerShell)
      • Possess advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
      • Evidence of skills analyzing information technology issues, evaluating alternatives, and making logical recommendations based on findings
      • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion
      • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with a demonstrated ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand
      • Demonstrated ability to excel both independently and as a team member in a lively, collaborative environment
      • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • VMware Certified Professional (VCP, VCAP or Design Expert)
      • Microsoft Server 2012
      • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification
      • Microsoft clustering experience
      • Unix/Linux administration and scripting
      • Microsoft Office SharePoint Services 2010 and 2016 installation/configuring

    • Perform other duties as assigned by Project Manager
