  • Overview

    Provide technical guidance, software installation, software configuration, and system troubleshooting, VMware, Windows, Windows exchange, Storage, Symantec, SharePoint, Joint Global Command and Control (GCCS-J), and Cisco products.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform daily system administration operations to include the configuration, administration of Active Directory 2008, Exchange 2010, and various Microsoft based services and servers such as DNS, DHCP, File, and Print
    • Provide software installation, configuration, technical guidance and troubleshooting various systems that include GCCS-J, VMware, Windows, SharePoint, and Cisco products
    • Upgrade host and virtual machines as needed
    • Ensure sufficient resources for virtual machines and virtual center compliance
    • Assist in the planning, programming, development, and execution of classroom System Administration, including but not limited to validating up to date training standards and tactical skills to facilitate practical application
    • Maintain Security Configuration Management (SCM) and Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTO)
    • Execute server builds and deployments supporting various application servers
    • Coordinate tasks with team’s SharePoint developers and engineers to create and administrate test networks, both virtual and physical
    • Perform all systems integration functions on server farms involving software products such as GOTS or COTS
    • Travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 25%
    • During contingency operations (deployments or exercises), an alternate work schedule may be required to support 24/7 operations; field conditions are likely

    Qualifications

    • Education:
      • HS diploma or GED required
      • DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+ CE; GSEC; etc.)
      • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA Windows Server 2008/2012)
      • MCSE (Windows Server 2016) within 1 year after hiring
      • VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Data Center Virtualization (DCV) Track, within 1 year after hiring
    • Required Knowledge:
      • Experience in the operation, configuration, administration, and management of Windows operating systems, Exchange services, and large DNS, WINS, and DHCP networks
      • Advanced troubleshooting skills on server operating systems and layered products, server security, upgrades and deployment of security and operating system patches
      • Working knowledge of iSCSI SAN (Storage Area Network) technology, Dell blade server technology and backup server technology.
      • Working knowledge of VMware 5X or newer technology.
      • Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) procedures for responding to new threats to systems to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability.
      • Experience operating, configuring, administering, and managing Windows operating systems and Exchange service.
      • Knowledge of server operating systems experience
      • Advanced troubleshooting skills on server operating systems and layered products
      • Experience with server security, upgrades and deployment of security and operating system patches
    • Preferred Knowledge:
      • 8 years’ experience in System Administration, setup, and sustainment support of expeditionary JTF Command and Control (C2) programs such as Deployable Joint Command Control System (DJC2), Next Generation Enclave (NGE), Tactical Processing Node (TPN), or other deployable programs of a similar level of scope.
      • Experience with systems administration, including setup and sustainment support for programs, such as DJC2 or other deployable programs of an equivalent level of scope.
      • Experience with large DNS, WINS, and DHCP network
      • Experience with VMware vCenter Server 5.5, VMware ESXi 5.5, and VMware vSphere 5.5
      • BA or BS degree preferred
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to be able to up to 50 pounds
      • Ability to operating in austere environments, hardship, Hostile Deployment Areas, etc.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by Site Lead
