  • Overview

    Take product development systems through various security requirements and meet Department security mandates. Bring previous experiences, best practices, and a collaborative attitude to help drive project deliverables and increased effectiveness in value and quality of software systems we create.     • Serve as lead security analyst for DOS/PSS
    • Ensure Assessment and Authorization (A&A) package documentation for General/Targeted Support Systems comply with all federal, and agency requirements
    • Prepare and/or revise A&A packages of application systems for review
    • Review and/or revise all A&A supporting documentation to ensure consistency across interrelated A&A package components including maintaining the A&A and RMF documentation in the DOS XACTA repository
    • Provide security expertise and guidance to ensure the consistent application of A&A processes across all major information systems
    • Maintain and provide reports on the status of all A&A materials and supporting documentation
    • Coordinate the responses to A&A and RMF related questions from the application development team and system hosting, back with the DOS control gates
    • Provide A&A expertise in the application of best practices to standardize and enhance A&A processes, ensuring compliance with both federal and DOS requirements
    • Senior level understanding and experience in NIST security guidelines
    • Experienced in Risk Management Framework (RMF) Steps 1-6
    • Communicate project risks
    • Participate in meetings, acting as a documentarian, co-facilitator, facilitator or subject matter expert in sketch sessions.
    • Participate in business process management group efforts to collect and analyze metrics and continually improve processes owned by the group
    • Participate in root cause analysis to recommend product enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve productivity for both the business units and IT


    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Have or be able to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret government security clearance
      • 5 or more years of experience in IT security and C&A/A&A domains
      • Experience using Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement
      • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and engagement
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Knowledge of Entellitrak (MicroPact software) preferred
      • Experience with Department of State
      • Experience with XACTA
      • Knowledge/Experience of Federal government background investigative systems

    Other Responsibilities

    • Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of the department/contract
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Services
