  • Overview

    Function as the subject matter expert on best practices for records management and archiving of sensitive federal agency documentation, serving as the point of contact for on-site meetings at senior/executive level, managing project tasks, tracking and reviewing deliverables, and work in conjunction to support the Document Management Team Lead on day to day functions of the File Scan Team. Support the document scanning policy and process.


    • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with government clients
    • Review, create, update, and maintain File Scanning Plan, Physical File Management Plan, and other Standard Operating Procedure documentation as required by the client
    • Provide subject matter expertise on best practices for records management and archiving of sensitive federal agency documentation
    • Help recommend and implement improvements to interim and to-be processes for file digitization and electronic delivery to end users
    • Provide management oversight over Document Management Team Lead, scan technicians performing scan acquisition, scan quality assurance, and file inventory activities
    • Ensure that all duties of the Document Management Team Lead are complete when that individual is not available.; may also perform these duties as part of their daily duties as needed by the client
    • Perform the preparation and scanning of active security documentation and assists with the destruction of digital files that have met their retention
    • Assist with scan acquisition, scan quality assurance, and file inventory activities
    • Provide management oversight over team of six scan technicians and one scan tech team lead, perform scan operations, monitor product quality and performance, and develop process improvements for scan operations to ensure project requirements are being met
    • Perform checks on the scan quality and OCR quality of processed documents, to include prevention of classified spillages by reporting appropriately
    • Assist in the training of new scan team members on scanning procedures and assist with creating and updating training materials and other job aids
    • Assign relevant metadata based on document content
    • Coordinate with government clients in support of physical file inventory and tracking, electronic file creation, delivery coordination and tracking, and physical file retirement to off-site government records service center
    • Professionally and responsibly represent both the company’s and the government’s best Interests


    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or a related discipline including Information Science or Federal Records Management
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret government security clearance
      • 5-10 years of professional experience working directly with federal government customers
      • Familiarity with National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and federal agency records management and archiving standards, including familiarity with file disposition schedules
      • Experience in a project (s) involving digitization of hard copy records
      • Experience in an environment supporting case management and/or personnel background investigations
      • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated
      • Exceptional project management skills and experience
      • Strong ability to prioritize, manage a large team, determine workload and proper distribution of work, and ensure time management for efficiencies
      • Excellent organizational skills, computer skills, and problem-solving skills
      • Professional experience with quality control
      • Good work ethic and strong focus on quality
      • Excellent client relationship and interpersonal skills
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science is preferred
