  • Overview

    Develop various technical materials in support of the NGFW integration and delivery program.  These include documenting configurations, diagraming implementations and creating training materials in support of transition the implemented program to the Agency’s operations and maintenance and helpdesk contractors.  Other tasking includes supporting program reporting requirements and supporting document change management requirements.


    • Write technical descriptions on the functionality of custom network infrastructure designs for network systems implementers in an enterprise network environment
    • Document firewall configuration settings in support of As-Build guides
    • Organize and, as needed, edit materials produced by Subject Matter Experts (SME) or Network Engineers
    • Work with SMEs and Network Engineers to prepare and format site survey process templates
    • Communicate with SMEs and engineers regarding program materials and edits
    • Support the development of planning, SDLC, troubleshooting and knowledge transfer documents
    • Develop help system documentation and examples for training associated with network infrastructures


    • Education:
      • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical writing and a BA/BS in a relevant field
      • OR 3 years’ experience with a MS/MA in relevant field
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Proven skill at writing technical descriptions on the functionality of custom network infrastructure designs in such a way that they make sense to the lay reader and can be used by network systems implementers or operations team members
      • Proven ability to organize and, as needed, edit materials produced by a SME or network engineer, with significant abilities in communicating with SME and engineers
      • Significant experience with developing help system documentation and examples for training associated with network infrastructures
      • Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively, work with minimal supervision, meet deadlines and produce quality work on multiple simultaneous projects
      • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, project, content and time management skills
      • Detail-oriented, organized, and a disciplined self-starter
      • Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
      • Significant, proven experience as a member of a team; positive interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation, particularly with clients from a wide variety of cultures
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Experience with MS Visio, MS Project, MS PowerPoint valued
