  • Overview

    Act as experienced Palo Alto Security Engineer to support service provider networking infrastructures.


    • Install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Palo Alto and Cisco Firewalls
    • Maintain and administer perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems
    • Be responsible for ongoing configuration changes, monitoring and maintenance for Palo Alto
    • Help in troubleshooting customer’s network security issues
    • Research industry best practices and make recommendations
    • Create configuration and installation documents
    • Utilize excellent oral and written communication skills, be a team player and willing to learn
    • Assist on other projects and operational issues
    • Be responsible for all aspects of technical development, engineering design, and implementation of customer’s Palo Alto and Cisco ASA based network security solution
    • Utilize proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and controllers


    • Education:
      • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline
      • OR CCIE certification, written and practical exam, in at least one of the following areas of specialization: Service Provider
        • Routing & Switching
        • Data Center
        • Security
        • Wireless
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Minimum of 10 years of experience in service provider networking
      • Understand and familiar with processes like change management, revision control, and automation
      • Have thorough understanding of firewall and intrusion detection technologies and associated expertise to design, implement, and maintain in a large enterprise network environment
      • Proficiency with Cisco routers required, as well as an understanding of WAN based support technologies including: MPLS Circuits, BGP, OSPF and DMVPN
      • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 7 (PCNSE7) certification
      • Install and maintain firewall technologies such as Palo Alto and Cisco ASAs
      • Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP
      • Good oral and written communications skills
      • Excellent customer service skills
      • Experience with Internet technologies and networking
      • Knowledge of network protocol captures and analysis (i.e. Wireshark, Netflow, etc.)
      • Experience with Linux, Windows, and/or MAC
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to perform network hardware installation which could include lifting, moving, and installing equipment up to 60 lbs
