  • Responsibilities

    • Prepare gap analysis and develop a list of priority security requirements
    • Support when new requirements are identified or when changes to existing support concepts are anticipated
    • Support cloud deployments and migrations through development and architecture of AWS, Azure and other FedRamp cloud solutions
    • Implement comprehensive Cloud solutions that support business needs and objectives in complex environments
    • Develop and Implement technical roadmaps, project plans, requirements, and designs in AWS, Azure, and other commercial Cloud solutions
    • Leverage deep technical expertise, knowledge of IT security compliance policies, and expertise with Cloud computing and network security to advise and educate technical and non-technical members of the firm to achieve objectives.
    • Provide systems engineering subject matter expertise to meet critical needs for independent assessments, engineering studies, and systems engineering and integration to assess the potential viability and cost-effectiveness of security solutions and their alignment to the USAID information security architecture and policy
    • Provide enterprise systems engineering guidance, systems security technical guidance, expert technical advice, technology assessments (research and proof-of-concepts), acquisition analysis (AoAs), and independent technical reviews
    • Perform technical reviews or assessments of external or community support systems proposed for use to support USAID missions,
    • Provide Security analysis, IA coordination among the different teams and final recommendations of Software Approval Requests (SARs)
    • Participate in IA meetings, boards such as TRB, CCB, program management reviews, and other related meetings and provide analyses that include recommendations to enable the Government to make informed decisions
    • Conduct technical security assessments, including Ad hoc vulnerability scans and other security tests, and recommend security upgrades to deter Cyber threats
    • Identify security risks, analyze those risks, specify system requirements and define baselines and procedural measures to ensure the integrity of computers and network information systems.
    • Specify, design, procure, install, and configure equipment or products used by IA programs, such as:
      • Security tools to support IA programs such as Skybox Security
      • Splunk SIEM, Nessus, Snort, CSAM and Infosec equipment
      • Intrusion detection and protection systems
      • Computer systems/encryption, firewalls, forensics, network
      • Intrusion monitoring, and system security audit products
    • Maintain CISO engineering LAB, equipment and inventory
    • Maintain IA email queues and resolve tickets


    • Education:
      • Bachelor’s degree
      • Computer security certification (CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GSLC, or CASP)
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Experience with designing, building, deploying, and securing software architectures in Cloud computing environments, including AWS and Microsoft Azure and experience with the research, evaluation, and testing of Cloud computing, virtualization systems, or related products used by federal agencies or commercial industry
      • Experience with administering, implementing, and supporting complex enterprise or government IT systems or networks
      • Experience in working with SIEMs (Splunk preferred)
      • Knowledge and experience with NIST Risk Management Framework required
      • 5+ years of working experience in cyber security related field
      • Experience and Competency with:
        • Incident Management Programs (CSIRT)
        • Incident Management solutions
        • Tenable Security Center
        • CSAM (or similar tool i.e. TAF, Archer, Xacta, etc.)
        • Security Authorization and Assessment (SA&A)
      • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience applying a risk-based approach to information security and IT assessments
      • eDiscovery/Forensic Management solutions
      • Governance & Risk Management & Compliance Support
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Splunk
