  • Overview

    Support technical planning, scheduling, project tracking, and documentation and issue resolution for projects. Will be responsible for providing support to senior level management in support of DISN infrastructure evolution and assist with customer migration to newer DISN services. Must be extremely motivated, self-starter requiring little to no supervision, flexible team player and have excellent written and verbal communications skills.



    • Manage all phases of project development to ensure customer satisfaction, project continuity and internal consistency
    • Plan, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the work of personnel and vendors engaged in the installation, maintenance, and operation of project related activities
    • Support and coordinate technical activities with both technical and non-technical staff by establishing performance measures, and priorities
    • Perform the technical engineering tasks including working with modeling tools, node and circuit engineering, developing and documenting circuit actions including implementation actions as directed
    • Be responsible for providing direction and feedback, and ensuring assigned projects/tasks are completed accurately and by the specified due date
    • Create project schedules and processes to ensure user satisfaction, project continuity and the timely delivery of services
    • Prepare regular progress, project status, and problem resolution reports regarding status of planning effort
    • Manage Engineering and implementation actions to support various Network Services projects including Tech Refresh projects
    • Facilitate meetings and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders
    • Monitor along with financial team, time and dollar expenditures to ensure project and budgets meet established targets for equipment orders
    • Serve as the technical support to the Government lead and other team members Update Program Manager on project status as requested


    • Education:
      • B.S. Degree or equivalent in IT, Engineering, or Management
      • 2-5 years equivalent experience may be substituted
    • Required Knowledge/Experience:
      • Must have at least 1-2 years of commercial telecom service provider experience working with customers to migrate from Point to Point TDM based Services to MPLS / IP VPN Services
      • Candidate must be familiar with entire life cycle of service realization and must have hands-on experience with service provisioning and request fulfillment. Candidate will have extensive knowledge of telecom products, operations, and engineering
      • Requires 1-2 years of Project Management and Engineering Experience with focus in telecommunications
      • Must have experience managing multiple large vendor projects
      • Comfortable presenting ideas to Sr. staff members and have the ability to meet quick deadlines including being able to prepare briefs for impromptu meetings
      • Oral and Written communications to exchange information, explain procedures, techniques and answer questions in a clear logical manner
      • Ability to work within stringent deadlines to complete assignments
      • Proficient using SharePoint, Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio
      • Ability to manage and verify customer requirements
      • Experience with Joint Information Environment for DISN/DODN capabilities and services
      • Experience and confidence in presenting program related issues and reports to customers to include white papers
      • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the customer mission and Copper River’s mission
    • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
      • Understanding of DISA technologies and how they can be integrated strongly desired
      • PMP preferred or willing to obtain
      • Strong technical and engineering background with a firm understanding of technical engineering processes
      • Experience with AT&T, Verizon or other service providers and preferably have Telecom experience in DoD environment
