Overview

Optimize windows application server configurations for high-availability, high security, and redundancy to support FSI Learn applications and FSI training system applications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain the entire Microsoft Exchange Environment
  • Manage and maintain distribution lists
  • Troubleshoot of a variety of mail flow issues
  • Configure and Maintain NetVCR Appliances for packet inspection of http and https web server connections to Learn.com Learncenter LMS software applications
  • Provide network backbone messaging engineering services for the FSI Primary network backbone systems (OpenNet), and FSI DINs backbone systems (DMZ, WiFi, DOM5, FSI NET, DOMS) environments
  • Deploy and expand Microsoft Exchange servers, implement new Distributed Availability Groups (DAGS), and implement Microsoft Exchange Edge servers
  • Prepare weekly monitoring reports for FSI/EX/OMIS (Network Enterprise Architecture Team) Branch chief on weekly security events and anomalous events
  • Prepare ad-hoc network security event notifications as required related to emerging security events
  • Configure and Implement ESX VMware systems and NetApp Storage systems and EMC Storage systems for FSI Distance Learning Initiatives with High Availability and Fault Tolerance
  • Implement new Microsoft and Cloud-based server solutions to support emerging distance learning applications and FSI training system applications

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or additional years experience
  • Required Knowledge/Experience:
    • Must possess one of the following industry recognized certifications:
      • CISSP
      • Microsoft MCSE
    • Must have a minimum of 7 years professional experience.
    • Has an in depth understanding of Exchange best practice principles and is able to apply concepts to various Exchange environments
    • Able to perform detailed troubleshooting of a variety of mail flow issues
    • Expert level understanding of packet inspection technologies, especially, tcp packet header inspection and intrusion protection, IP packet data inspection and intrusion protection, application level packet inspection and intrusion protection for sql injection, and cross-site scripting events
    • Engineering Experience securing technology-based and distance learning application curricula software
    • Familiarity with DMZ security infrastructures and defense in depth security engineering principles
    • Engineering experience load-balancing web-based technologies, web-servers, and distance learning application curricula software
    • Engineering experience managing and deploying enterprise messaging systems including enterprise email backbone components, mail flow, mail security, DNS records, and database management
    • Engineering experience implementing, maintaining, and deploying Microsoft Exchange server systems, server-side Microsoft Exchange Outlook Web Access, and ActiveSync technologies
    • Engineering experience of Microsoft Lync collaboration software systems
    • Engineering experience implementing and maintaining Microsoft server operating systems, Microsoft domain integration, and Microsoft web application servers
    • Engineering experience of NetApp storage systems, VMWare virtualization Software, and storage based virtualization infrastructures supporting distance learning architectures
    • Familiarity with assessing security posture, reviewing security events, and creating security monitoring reports for distance learning software packages for internet based Dedicated Independent Networks
    • Experience must have been acquired in a Windows-based (2008/2012/Windows 7 or higher) client/server environment
  • Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
    • Engineering knowledge of information networking systems, especially as they pertain to:
    • Use of customized application delivery systems in a web-based learning environment
    • Distance training environments with LMS systems
    • Load balancing DMZ networked applications
    • Campus based networking environments which support classroom environments, application developers, web developers, database developers, and management staff
    • Engineering experience of Microsoft Server 2010/ 2013 installation and maintenance, Microsoft Exchange DAG configuration, and Microsoft Edge Server technology implementation
    • Network security analysis for web-based learning environment
    • Deep packet inspection analysis and SSL decryption engineering experience for web-based applications
    • F5 ASM (Application Security Manager) analysis and configuration experience for web-based applications
    • VMware ESXi 5.1/5.5/6.0 implementation and configuration experience with NetApp storage integration and VXrail integration
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, and stretch, stand for extended periods of time
